Study in Germany: Your Student Visa Guide for Pakistani Students

Types of Germany Student Visas

If you’re a Pakistani student planning to study in Germany, there are two main types of visas you may need, depending on the duration and purpose of your stay:

  • German Student Applicant Visa (Visum zur Studienbewerbung): For students who have not yet received an admission letter from a university but wish to apply in person in Germany. This visa allows you to stay for three months, extendable up to six months.
  • German Student Visa (Visum zu Studienzwecken): For students already admitted to a German university. This visa is for long-term studies, typically over six months, and is the most common option for Pakistani students pursuing full-time education.

Pakistani students often apply for the German Student Visa once they have secured admission to a university.
